Hi there!

My name is Marie Odbjerg, and I am the artist behind the pieces you can see and purchase on this website. 

I live in Copenhagen, but I was born in a small suburb to Odense. 

I grew up in a creative family, where art, music and literature were a part of every day life. 

I studied art history in Aarhus for two years, but left my studies to become a teacher. I moved to Copenhagen in 2013 and graduated in 2017. Since then, I have been working at different schools, teaching Art, Religion, History and English. 

Next to working as a teacher I have continuously worked on my art.

I stopped working as a teacher for good on the 30th of July 2024. I needed a change, and for the first time in my life I felt courageous enough to give it my all. To become a fulltime artist has always been a dream of mine, but I always doubted myself and my abilities, and was afraid of being in an insecure position financially. 

Anyway, here we are! I hope that some of you will feel inspired to purchase my art, since it is the only way that I can continue my dream. 

Inspiration: 

I am inspired by the human condition, the mythological tales we tell about ourselves and each other, urban life, class and privilege, sensuality and sexuality.
